Awards — Coming When Data Is Live
Echoeboard Awards will be determined entirely by verified play data from the chart engine. No awards will be announced until real data has been flowing for a minimum of one full quarter (13 weeks). Everything below describes how the system will work — not current results.
Data decides.
No votes. No politics.
Every chart award will be determined entirely by verified play data. The algorithm announces the winner. Nothing can be bought, lobbied for, or campaigned for.

How Award Winners Are Determined
1. Echoeboard chart engine computes weekly positions from 5 weighted signals: Streams (35%), Airplay (30%), Reach (15%), Momentum (10%), Cultural Spread (10%).
2. At the end of the eligibility period, the algorithm ranks all tracks and artists by their cumulative chart performance.
3. Winners are announced automatically. No human selects chart award winners. No lobbying. No campaigns.
4. All underlying data is public and verifiable through the Echoeboard API.
A small number of honours where artistic judgment is applied — clearly labeled as board-selected, not data-driven. These are separate from chart awards and transparently governed.

Artist who most successfully bridges multiple African music traditions.
Station or broadcaster contributing most to local language music programming.
Echoeboard Annual Awards
The first ceremony will be announced after verified chart data has been running for a minimum of one full year. The data runs publicly — the ceremony is the recognition.
